Upon discovering an artifact, you have the choice of keeping the artifact for yourself - thereby lowering your Evaluation Level - or sending it up to Odin - losing the item, but increasing your Evaluation.
.Regardless of your decision, finding an artifact will increase your Hero Level slightly.
